Cross-platform open source tool for creating & modifying subtitles. Makes it quick & easy to time subtitles to audio & features many powerful tools for styling them, including a built-in real-time video preview. Used with GMIT Year 1 & 2 Language & Culture French.

The tool has an interface that may be confusing to either instructor or learner; there is limited opportunity for personalization.

The tool promotes a mix of forms for learners (audio, visual, textual) but is limited in its ability to provide non-sequential, flexible/adaptive engagement with material
Mobile Design & Functionality
Not Applicable: The tool can be used as a portable software via a USB stick or as an app on an OS. The need to subtitle though would render the use of the app on a mobile near impossible (you need to see a full video scene to subtitle).
Integration / Embedding with Moodle
The tool can only be accessed through a hyperlink or static representations of the tool (e.g file export), rather than a functional version of the tool itself

Technical support and help documentation is available directly from the software providers website and/or built in to the application.
